Orphaned at a young age, Neetu Singh lives a wealthy lifestyle in Raigadh in a palace which is presided over by her aunt, Rani Maa, and Neetu's paternal uncle, Rajan Singh. She travels and lives for a few years in Switzerland, then returns back to Bombay, India, and has a run-in with some slum-dwellers near Juhu. A few days later she is abducted by two men, who had initially claimed to be palace guards, and is rescued by a male named Raju Khan, a career thief and con-man, who was one of the slum dwellers in Juhu. She reaches Raigadh and shortly thereafter is shocked to find out that Raju is claiming to be the long-lost son of Rani Maa and her betrothed. Her disbelief turns to love when the Court Astrologer confirms that Raju indeed is the sole heir to Raigadh, and both of them fall in love with each other much to the displeasure of Prem Singh, the illegitimate son of Dilip Singh (brother of Rajan) who wants Neetu and Raigadh for himself. What Neetu does not know is that Prem has hired Raju to impersonate Rani Maa's son.

Master Dinanath is an ex-freedom fighter. When he gets Thakur Pratap Singh arrested for arms smuggling, he has Master's wife Bharati and young daughter Priti kidnapped and also turns his locality's public against him. Dinanath escapes with his young son Raju and they settle into a slum named Bharat Nagar. Meanwhile, Bharati contracts leprosy and escapes from her kidnappers, leaving her daughter Priti in a friend's care. Dinanath is led to presume that his wife and daughter are dead. Bharati Nagar is ruled by four underworld dons, each representing a different Indian community. Dinanath persuades them to live in harmony and once they settle their differences, the four dons use Dinanath's stay in Bharat Nagar to cover up their own illegal activities. Fast Forward to 15 years later, the year is 1962. Dinanath's now grown-up son Raju turns out to be the opposite of his father by being drawn into the underworld, committing crimes to earn money with his father unaware of what he does. Raju starts working for Thakur Pratap Singh, unaware that Thakur had once kidnapped his mother and sister many years earlier which caused their separation. Will Raju find out what Thakur did to his family? Will Dinanath find out his son is not what he thinks he is? And will Dinanath ever find his wife and daughter again? Simpleton and honest village farmer, Dharamchand alias Dharam is overjoyed when his wife, Radha gives birth to a baby boy who is christen with the name Raju. He comes to the rescue of three city-bred men, Ajit, Suresh and Sujit when they are at the mercy of a man-eating tiger; please with this they decides to offer Dharam a job in Bombay whenever he needs it. Delighted and when things are not quite rosy in the village Dharam, Radha, Raju and his sister, Laxmi decides to move to the city where-by the duo provides living quarters and appoint Dharam as the managing director of their warehouse along with a fat pay packet. Unfortunately calamity destructs when Dharam is arrested by the police for smuggling goods and is placed before the court where-by he pleads his innocence but his bosses testify against him resulting in Dharam getting 18 months imprisonment as well as an additional 6 months for contempt of court. After completing his sentence Dharam goes to his residence to find that nothing is the same anymore as his family are living as destitute while his sister Laxmi has committed suicide after being molested by Sujit. Enraged Dharam decides to seek out the three, mercilessly killing them; this behavior gets notice by the bosses of the underworld who decides to elect Dharam as their ring leader thus Dharam is able to make things right for him and his family by moving in a spacious bungalow and sending Raju to London for further education. Dharam hopes to get Raju marry to his crime-partner daughter but Raju gives his heart to Geeta Varma, the girl he reaches in London. This pits both father and son against each other and to worsen matter Ajit is still alive and plan on settling scores with Dharam once and for all. Tags : village | revenge
